A survey is only as good as its questions. “How much did you enjoy our great service?” already tells people which answer you want, and “Was the food tasty and fairly priced?” asks two things at once, so a yes could mean either. We write questions that are neutral, one idea at a time and in plain words, and we ask of each: what will you do with this answer?
We then choose a type for each question, set up the form and test it as a respondent would, and later clean the responses into a tidy spreadsheet with a short summary. Two things stay with you: consent from the people you ask, and how they are reached, whether through a WhatsApp group, a customer list or your social pages. A survey also speaks only for those who answered, so we describe results carefully.
